This is a well-made, tried and tested dome from our trusted manufacturing partner. Unlike other dome shops, we include insulation, a solar fan, a glass door, light blocking curtains and side vent windows as standard options because we think you’ll be most comfortable with this set-up and shouldn’t have to stretch your budget to afford these essential features.

This dome set includes:

  • Aluminum skeleton and hardware

  • Insulation: 4 layers including polyester, cotton and mylar, moisture resistant and easy to clean

  • Double-layer PVC-coated polyester cover: waterproof, UV-resistant, thick PVC outer layer for dome cover and bay window

  • Removable / replaceable bay window - new design by request of customers to enable easy repairs and dome longevity

  • Light blocking curtains and curved curtain rod

  • 2 screen windows with PVC cover

  • Aluminum frame + tempered glass door and door lock

  • Solar powered fan for ventilation

  • 1 or 2 doors (2 doors can increase ventilation for warm climates)

  • Wind and snow rated for all climates

  • Optional skylight to view stars at night

Build your geodesic dome in 10 easy steps:

  1. Obtain permitting ahead of building, if your local regulations require it *

  2. Level the site / ground where you will be building the dome.

  3. Build a level platform

  4. Gather 2-3 of your favorite friends to put together the dome skeleton and secure to platform

  5. Install door

  6. Install insulation layer and PVC outer layer

  7. Install solar fan, vent windows, any other accessories

  8. Install flooring (We recommend laminate for durability, water resistance and insulating properties)

  9. Design and install electrical system and outlets coming up from floor of dome (Do not try to cut the dome PVC layer to install outlets on the walls.)

  10. Water seal PVC layer to platform at the bottom edges to block rain from getting into the dome

    * Note the dome is essentially a temporary tent you’re standing up on your land. Depending on how you build it, you may be able to avoid needing a building permit.
